WHAT ARE ALLERGIES
Allergies are a common health condition that affects over 50 million Americans every year. They occur when the immune system overreacts to a foreign substance, known as an allergen, triggering a cascade of reactions. Seeking allergy testing for adults is crucial to pinpoint specific triggers. This process helps identify whether pollen, grass, trees, pet dander, dust mites, or certain foods are the culprits behind your symptoms.
The immune system’s response, releasing chemicals like histamine, can lead to a range of symptoms, from mild discomfort to severe reactions. Skin inflammation, sinus congestion, respiratory issues, and digestive discomfort are common manifestations. By understanding your allergens through targeted allergy testing for adults, you can take proactive steps to manage and alleviate your symptoms, significantly improving your overall quality of life. If allergies are impacting you, consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized testing and guidance is a crucial first step.

What Are Sublingual Allergy Drops?
Sublingual allergy drops, also known as sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) drops, are a form of treatment for allergies. They involve placing drops of allergen extracts under the tongue to help the body build up a tolerance to allergens, which can reduce or eliminate the symptoms of allergies. SLIT drops are an alternative to allergy shots and can be administered at home by the patient. The treatment can provide long-term relief from allergies and can reduce the need for over-the-counter and prescription medications. Allergy drops are generally considered safe and have a low risk of serious side effects.

FAQs
What are allergies?
Allergies occur when the body’s immune system responds to a substance it considers an “invader”. Substances that provoke the immune system into an allergic response are known as allergens. What might trigger a life threatening allergies response in one person might not cause any response in another person.
Allergens enter the body either through ingestion, inhalation, or contact with the skin or mucous membranes. Mild allergy symptoms include itchy, dry, red, or watery eyes, a runny nose, scratchy throat, and rashes. More severe symptoms include swelling of the throat, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.
Who should get an allergy test?
Anyone experiencing the Signs & Symptoms described above on a regular, or seasonal, basis. Allergies can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status. What is allergy immunotherapy?
Immunotherapy is a treatment directed at decreasing your sensitivity to certain allergens. These particular allergens are identified with allergy testing. Specific amounts of natural allergen extracts are introduced into the body which help to produce antibodies that block allergic symptoms over time. Immunotherapy helps your body build up its natural resistance to the effects of tree, grass, and weed pollen, dust mites, mold spores, and animal dander. It is also the only proven medical treatment available that strengthens the immune system to provide lasting relief and prevent new allergies and asthma. A full course of immunotherapy can lead to long-term relief of your allergy symptoms even after the therapy has stopped. It contains no medication.

If you are positive for 3-5 allergens, you are a mild candidate for immunotherapy treatment. 6-8 you will greatly benefit from personalized immunotherapy drops. 9 or more you are strongly encouraged to start on a personalized treatment plan. Patients typically start seeing positive results within months 2-4 and gradually experience less allergic symptoms over the course of the treatment.
